Judo Clinics
I've been teaching judo for over a decade, and have found it to truly be one of my passions. I've taught clinics in North America and Australia and I've held teaching appointments for at Pedro's Judo Center, multiple Brazilian Jiujitsu clubs, Sport Judo and Indiana University. Having competed on both the North American judo and the IBJJF circuits, I bring experience that isn't common among many clinicians in the United States. For BJJ athletes, I understand what parts of the take down game are viable in the unique competition environment they inhabit. For judoka, I can provide easy to implement fixes to common newaza problems.
If your interested in having a clinic, please feel to contact me. |

Testimonials
I have worked with Chris Round extensively as a coach, colleague and fellow athlete for the past 10 years and I can tell you this.... His command of information, knowledge and his ability to disseminate the information in a fashion that all may understand, apply and pass on is impeccable. I have worked with very few athletes that not only understand the technique but the philosophical approach that undergirds its use.
Since working with Chris I have watched him knowledge in the grappling arts of Judo and Brazilian Jiujitsu flourish and have observed him become not only an international competitor but a top notch seminarist and coach.
If you have the opportunity to attend his seminar, I would highly recommend it. He has spent the bulk of his career around world champions, Olympians and high level international coaches and athletes. And THAT information is something that is not readily available to the general population.
So come out and support Chris, his educational pursuits and learn some cool moves at the same time

My name is Dan Simmler and I have been actively training and competing in BJJ for 20 years and judo for about 12. I have had the great privilege of not only getting to train with and learn from Chris but had the pleasure of sharing the mats with him for a number of years as a teammate at Pedro's Judo Club which is arguably one of the top judo clubs/teams in the world. I have traveled and competed all across the USA and internationally and I can tell you that there are not many people like Chris that take the approach to teaching that he does. His ability to explain and break down the moves for all students regardless of how they learn best has always been something I have admired as well as his attention to detail. One of his major advantages is is in depth knowledge of both BJJ as well as Judo. He is able to connect the dots flawlessly from the feet to the ground which even some of the most elite competitors in the world struggle to do. If you have the chance to train with Chris or attend a clinic or seminar I would not pass up the opportunity.

Chris came to my gym in Bedford and exchanged techniques with me on more than one occasion. He has a great ability to communicate the details necessary to effectively pull off high percentage judo techniques against the posture of BJJ fighters. Chris' competition experience in judo has made his transition BJJ easy and his knowledge super exceeds his BJJ belt rank.
Enjoy... Take notes... Send them to me.

Chris is a good friend of mine and anyone who wants to enhance their stand up game for BJJ, I highly reccomend this workshop. Being a judoka myself, I emphasize to my students the importance of all the aspects of judo in which Chris will be teaching. Dont miss a chance to train with someone who shared the mats on a daily basis with America's best judokas.

I've done judo since 2001 but I always enjoy being a student again. Chris taught some nice details as well as fundamental movements/throws. How anyone can choose to not attend boggles my mind!

I'm a brown belt in both judo and BJJ. I was fortunate to get a chance to train with Chris during his grad school years. The impact he's made on my judo has been substantial. My strategy in stand-up continues to be almost entirely what he helped me craft, and I attribute my increased success in stand-up to his guidance. You're all very lucky to have an opportunity like this and I wish I could be a part of it. Hope you all enjoy learning from him as much as I did!
